White Kitchens are all the rage now

The look of marble countertops can be achieved with Quartzite but with the qualities of granite as far as hardness.

Granite is an igneous rock and is more abundantly found than quartzite. Quartzite consists of a larger volume of quartz material created under heat and pressure combined, quartzite is formed from sandstone and quartz empty grains of sandstone are stuffed with quartz. Quartzite is actually harder than Granite. On the Mohs scale of hardness, 1 to 10 with 10 being the hardest, granite measures in at 6-6.5, and quartzite at approximately 7. Quartzite is recommended to be sealed due to areas of sandstone are more prone to etching. Sealing all natural stone is recommended. We are a direct importer of this material.
